This project was created with the concept of equality at its core.
In a world where people are marginalised by race, class, gender, religion, and more, I’ve often returned to a simple belief: we are all made of the same parts, and we all come from the same earth. So why is there so much conflict rooted in our differences?
This interactive zine invites reflection on how social constructs give rise to inequality—constructs that are, ultimately, of our own making. Through layered sketches and the usage of metaphors, this zine explores the shared essence beneath perceived difference.

Using flowering plants as the integral subject, these lifeforms have been dissected, examined and sketched out in their barest form for the viewer. Each plant is printed on a translucent piece of tracing paper, which allows the viewer to overlay each sketch on a base that depicts the fundamental structure of a plant.
As the viewer flips through sketch after sketch, they will find that regardless of the plants’ outer appearances, they all share the same essential parts, without which they cease to exist.
Through this exploration and dissection of plants, the viewer is invited to reflect on how these surface-level features influence our perceptions of worth. The project juxtaposes plant imagery with human forms, highlighting a shared foundation between both species.
Through this contrast, the zine challenges the viewer to reconsider how value is assigned. If every plant shares the same fundamental structure, why does one hold more worth than another? If all humans, too, share a common foundation, what truly defines our value?
This zine encourages looking beyond superficial differences and appreciating the inherent worth of simply being.
